The ZARUBA A3 is a portable, tri-band RF scanner that picks up FPV drone video signals so you know what's flying nearby before it becomes a problem.It's the result of years of feedback from pros who use this gear on the job every day, in real conditions, not just on a bench.

How It Works

Every FPV drone beams a live video feed back to its pilot over radio — usually on 1.3 GHz, 3.3 GHz, or 5.8 GHz. The A3 scans all three bands at once, running a full sweep every 4–8 seconds. Catch a signal, and it lets you know right away with sound and light — and if the signal's strong enough, you'll actually see the video feed pop up on the built-in 3.5″ screen. That's a real confirmation, not just a beep telling you to guess.

Here's the big thing: the A3 only listens. It doesn't transmit, doesn't jam, doesn't mess with anyone's signal. It's a passive receiver, plain and simple. That means nobody can detect it's running, and — as long as you're following federal, state, and local rules — passive RF monitoring like this is generally legal to own and use in the US. That's a real difference from active jammers, which are a whole different (and much more restricted) category.

The housing is impact-resistant PETG, rated IP54, so dust and light rain aren't going to take it out of service. Two swappable 21700 Li-ion cells give you 6–8 hours of run time on a charge, and it juices back up over USB-C in about 4 hours — same cable you're already using for your phone or laptop. Under 1.5 lbs, so it's not dead weight on a long shift.

With no fans drawing power, the Field Edition runs about one hour longer on a charge (7–9 hours vs. 6–8 hours on the Standard). No fans also means it runs silent, has no moving parts to wear out, and has fewer openings for dust to get in — a good fit for static observation posts and long shifts where quiet matters.
